About the Role
As an Associate Director, Portfolio & Content Marketing within the Software Engineering Group (SEG), you will serve as the strategic messaging anchor for one of Cognizant's most dynamic and fast-growing service line groups. You will own the end-to-end content and positioning strategy across SEG's full offering portfolio — spanning AI-led Software Engineering, IT Modernization, IT Operations, and AI Assurance — ensuring consistent, compelling narratives that resonate with C-suite and enterprise buyers globally.
You will act as a trusted strategic partner to the SEG Marketing leadership, driving messaging excellence, competitive differentiation, and thought leadership across all buyer-facing channels, while overseeing content quality and consistency across the team.
In this role, you will:
- Own and maintain the messaging architecture across all SEG offerings, developing a comprehensive messaging matrix per offering — aligned by buyer persona, vertical, and pain point.
- Drive content strategy, creation, and quality, acting as a strategic partner to the Director, Service Line Marketing Leader on SEG's positioning and narrative.
- Define ABM account strategy — including account selection, tiering, and messaging angles — and brief Cognizant's central campaign structure for execution.
- Oversee the output of the Executive Communications & Social function, ensuring consistency and quality across all external-facing content.
- Prepare analyst briefing materials for Gartner, Forrester, and IDC, and lead competitive differentiation work including quarterly battlecard updates.
- Commission and review thought leadership content — including PoV articles, solution narratives, white papers, and industry perspectives — in collaboration with SEG SMEs and external writers.
- Maintain market and competitive intelligence on technology shifts and evolving client adoption patterns to continuously refresh SEG's narrative.
- Partner with the GTM Associate Director to ensure all sales enablement materials reflect current positioning before distribution to the sales community.
What You Need to Have to Be Considered
- 12+ years of product marketing or portfolio marketing experience within IT services or technology consulting.
- MBA (Marketing/IT) and Engineering degree preferred.
- Demonstrated ability to build and own messaging frameworks for complex, multi-offering technology services portfolios.
- Exceptional written English with a strong ability to review, edit, and elevate C-suite-level content; a published portfolio of B2B thought leadership is strongly preferred.
- Experience preparing analyst briefing materials and competitive intelligence decks for technology services.
- Proven ability to partner with senior SMEs and offering leaders to translate insights into compelling business narratives.
These Will Help You Succeed
- Experience with ABM program design — account selection, tiering, and content mapping.
- Familiarity with AI, Cloud, Data Engineering, or ERP services marketing.
- Prior exposure to BFSI, HCLS, P&R, or CMT vertical marketing.
- Ability to manage multiple priorities and thrive in a complex, matrixed, cross-functional environment.
- Strategic agility to navigate dynamic business contexts and evolving portfolio landscapes.
- Messaging Impact: A clear, consistent, and differentiated narrative across all SEG offerings and buyer touchpoints.
- Content Excellence: High-quality thought leadership and sales enablement assets that drive engagement and pipeline.
- Competitive Positioning: Up-to-date battlecards and analyst materials that strengthen SEG's market differentiation.
- Stakeholder Satisfaction: Positive feedback from SEG leadership, sales, and GTM teams on content quality and strategic alignment.
