About the role
As a Sr. Software Engineer (.NET / Azure), you will make an impact by designing, developing, and enhancing secure, scalable enterprise applications that support asset and wealth management initiatives and broader business transformation goals. You will be a valued member of the engineering team and work collaboratively with product owners, architects, and cross-functional stakeholders to deliver high-quality digital solutions.

In this role, you will:
- Design, develop, and maintain scalable application components using .NET technologies (C#, SQL Server, and cloud platforms)
- Build and enhance API-driven and service-oriented solutions to enable seamless integration across enterprise systems
- Develop responsive and user-friendly front-end features using JavaScript, HTML, and CSS
- Ensure application performance, reliability, and security through testing, code reviews, and optimization efforts
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to translate business requirements into robust technical solutions and support end-to-end delivery
Work model:

Based on this role’s business requirements, this is an onsite position requiring 5 days per week in a client or Cognizant office in Fort Mill, SC, United States.

What you need to have to be considered:
- Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related field (or equivalent experience)
- 6–8 years of hands-on experience in .NET development using C# in enterprise environments
- Strong expertise in SQL Server, including database design, query optimization, and performance tuning
- Experience building and deploying applications in cloud environments (Azure and/or AWS)
- Proficiency in JavaScript and modern web development practices
- Experience developing API-driven / microservices-based solutions
- Solid understanding of secure coding practices, testing frameworks, and CI/CD pipelines
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with ability to translate functional requirements into technical solutions
These will help you stand out:
- Experience working with Generative AI (Gen AI) tools or solutions in software development workflows
- Knowledge of asset and wealth management domains (portfolios, trading, reporting, etc.)
- Experience with AWS services in addition to Azure
- Strong exposure to performance optimization, monitoring, and logging frameworks
- Ability to work effectively in cross-functional and geographically distributed teams

Salary and Other Compensation:

The annual salary for this position is between $68,000 - $114,000 depending on experience and other qualifications of the successful candidate.
This position is also eligible for Cognizant’s discretionary annual incentive program, based on performance and subject to the terms of Cognizant’s applicable plans.
