Job Title – Gen AI Developer
About the role
As an AI/ML Architect, you will make an impact by designing and delivering scalable, enterprise-grade AI and machine learning solutions that drive meaningful business outcomes. You will be a valued member of the AI & Analytics team and work collaboratively with data scientists, engineers, and business stakeholders to enable innovative, production-ready AI systems.
In this role, you will:
· Design and implement scalable AI/ML architectures aligned with enterprise standards and cloud-native best practices.
· Develop end-to-end machine learning pipelines using MLflow for experimentation, tracking, and model lifecycle management.
· Build and optimize Generative AI and agent-based solutions using leading frameworks and APIs (e.g., OpenAI, Anthropic Claude).
· Establish and implement MLOps/AgentOps practices, including CI/CD pipelines, monitoring, and model governance.
· Collaborate cross-functionally to define data strategies, feature engineering approaches, and deployment patterns for AI solutions.

Based on this role’s business requirements, this is a hybrid position requiring 3 days per week in a client or Cognizant office in Toronto, ON. What you need to have to be considered
· 10–12 years of experience in AI/ML architecture, solution design, and enterprise deployments.
· Strong hands-on expertise with MLflow (experiment tracking, model registry, lifecycle management).
· Proficiency in Python, including API development, asynchronous programming, and AI/ML libraries.
· Experience building Generative AI solutions, including prompt engineering and working with foundation models.
· Solid understanding of MLOps practices, including CI/CD, infrastructure as code, and production model monitoring.
· Experience with AWS services (including CodeCommit) for version control, pipeline orchestration, and cloud-native development.
· Hands-on experience designing and deploying ML systems from experimentation to production environments.
These will help you stand out
· Experience with agent frameworks such as LangGraph, CrewAI, AutoGen, or LangChain.
· Hands-on experience with OpenAI or Anthropic Claude APIs, including agent orchestration and tool usage.
· Experience building Retrieval-Augmented Generation (RAG) pipelines and working with vector databases.
· Familiarity with observability frameworks, evaluation tooling, and model performance monitoring.
· Strong communication skills with the ability to translate complex technical concepts for non-technical stakeholders.

Salary and Other Compensation:

The annual salary for this position is between CAD 81,000 – CAD 145,000 depending on experience and other qualifications of the successful candidate.
This position is also eligible for Cognizant’s discretionary annual incentive program, based on performance and subject to the terms of Cognizant’s applicable plans.
