About the role
As a Generative AI (GAI) Expert / Software Engineer, you will make an impact by designing and building AI-powered applications that automatically generate code, pipelines, and web applications through prompts while enhancing contact center operations using advanced generative AI frameworks. You will be a valued member of the AI Engineering & Innovation team and work collaboratively with product managers, data scientists, software engineers, and business stakeholders.
In this role, you will:
Design, develop, and maintain applications that generate code, pipelines, and web applications using generative and agentic AI
Enhance contact center operations by integrating AI solutions to improve customer experience and operational efficiency
Apply software design principles to deliver clean, scalable, and maintainable code
Experiment with and implement advanced LLM and agentic technologies to expand capabilities
Collaborate across teams to accelerate adoption of AI-powered tools and solutions
Work model: Hybrid

What you need to have to be considered
4–5 years of experience in software engineering with strong coding fundamentals
2–3 years of hands-on experience implementing generative AI solutions
Proficiency in Python and ability to quickly learn new frameworks and technologies
Experience building scalable, modular, and testable applications using modern design patterns
Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, or related field (or equivalent experience)
These will help you stand out
Experience with generative AI frameworks, LLMs, and agentic technologies
Knowledge of NLP, computer vision, or other AI/ML domains
Experience with cloud platforms, preferably AWS
Familiarity with frontend technologies such as React or Angular
Experience with DevOps practices, CI/CD pipelines, and automated testing frameworks

Salary and Other Compensation:
The annual salary for this position is between $112,500 - $132,000, depending on experience and other qualifications of the successful candidate.
This position is also eligible for Cognizant’s discretionary annual incentive program, based on performance and subject to the terms of Cognizant’s applicable plans.
