Job Summary
This role involves ensuring the highest quality standards in software development and testing processes. The Lead Quality Engineer will focus on automation API testing and BDD frameworks leveraging tools like Selenium and Cucumber. The position requires expertise in Java and hybrid work flexibility with no travel required.
Responsibilities
- Lead the design and implementation of automated testing frameworks using tools like Selenium and Cucumber to ensure robust software quality.
- Oversee the development and execution of Behavior Driven Development (BDD) test cases to align testing with business requirements.
- Provide expertise in API testing to validate functionality reliability and performance of backend services.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to identify and resolve software defects in a timely manner.
- Develop and maintain test scripts in Java to support automation efforts and streamline testing processes.
- Ensure compliance with established quality standards and best practices throughout the software development lifecycle.
- Monitor and report on testing progress identifying risks and recommending mitigation strategies to stakeholders.
- Conduct root cause analysis for defects and implement corrective actions to prevent recurrence.
- Mentor and guide junior team members in testing methodologies tools and techniques to enhance team capabilities.
- Work closely with product managers and developers to ensure alignment of testing objectives with business goals.
- Optimize testing processes to improve efficiency and reduce time-to-market for software releases.
- Utilize domain knowledge in Finance and Accounting if applicable to enhance testing accuracy and relevance.
- Adapt to hybrid work model requirements ensuring effective communication and collaboration across remote and in-office settings. Qualifications
- Possess strong expertise in automation testing tools such as Selenium and Cucumber.
- Demonstrate proficiency in Java programming for developing and maintaining test scripts.
- Have hands-on experience with API testing to validate backend services.
- Exhibit knowledge of Behavior Driven Development (BDD) frameworks and methodologies.
- Display familiarity with Finance and Accounting domain which is considered a plus.
- Showcase excellent problem-solving skills to identify and resolve software defects effectively.
- Possess strong communication skills to collaborate with cross-functional teams and stakeholders.
- Demonstrate ability to mentor and guide junior team members in testing practices.
- Have a minimum of 8 years and a maximum of 12 years of relevant experience in software quality engineering.
- Adapt to hybrid work environments and ensure seamless collaboration across remote and in-office settings.
- Exhibit a proactive approach to optimizing testing processes and improving software quality.
- Show commitment to maintaining compliance with quality standards and best practices.
- Demonstrate ability to work independently and manage multiple priorities effectively.
Certifications Required
ISTQB Certified Tester Advanced Level or equivalent certification in software testing.
