We are seeking an experienced Automation Test Analyst with proven expertise in Selenium WebDriver and Java-based test automation. The role focuses on designing, developing, and maintaining automated test cases for our banking clients.
In this role, you will
• Design, develop, and maintain automation test scripts using Selenium or Playwright frameworks.
• Automating UI and API test scenarios to improve test coverage, accuracy, and execution efficiency.
• Conduct API testing using REST Assured, ReadyAPI, REST/SOAP services.
• Develop Rest API automation scripts using Rest Assured framework.
• Identify, document, and track defects using defect management tools (JIRA, Azure DevOps, etc.).
• Integrate automation suites with CI/CD pipelines (Jenkins, GitLab, etc.).
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams in an Agile/Scrum environment to deliver high-quality software solutions.
• Communicate effectively with stakeholders to provide updates on testing progress and quality metrics.
Required skills
• Overall 4-8 years of hands-on experience in automation testing with a focus on web application development.
• Minimum 4 years of hands-on automation experience using Java, Selenium, Junit, TestNG, Maven, BDD Cucumber framework.
• Strong proficiency in Java programming language for developing custom automation scripts.
• Experience in API testing (REST/SOAP) using tools like Postman or Rest Assured
• Knowledge of API testing concepts (status codes, headers, payloads, authentication: OAuth, JWT, Basic Auth).
• Knowledge of CI/CD tools (Jenkins, Azure DevOps, GitHub Actions).
• Experience with bug tracking and test management tools like JIRA, TestRail, or Zephyr.
Preferred skills
• Banking domain experience is highly preferred.
• Gen AI Testing knowledge.
• Playwright automation experience.

Total compensation:
We regularly assess market data to ensure we offer a competitive compensation package for our associates. The base salary for this position ranges between CAD 50,000 - 73,000 per year. Where the successful candidate may fall within the range depends on relevant education, work and/or management experience and other business-related and job-necessary qualifications. This position is also eligible for Cognizant’s discretionary annual performance-based bonus, as well as benefits that support your physical, mental and financial wellbeing.
Working arrangements
We believe hybrid work is the way forward as we strive to provide flexibility wherever possible. Based on this role’s business requirements, this is a hybrid position requiring 4 days a week in a client or Cognizant office in Toronto, ON.
